Indigenous art is a big part of the Northern Territory life. No matter where you roam you'll find it in it's natural habitat or on display in art galleries. Here are a few places you can discover Aboriginal Art.

Araluen Centre

There are 4 art galleries in the Centre featuring exhibitions including Aboriginal art and contemporary art. One of the galleries contains the Albert Namatjira Gallery, which exhibits a rotating selection of original paintings. The Araluen Centre also houses drama, dance and musical events.

Papunya Tula Artists

Papunya Tula Artists is located in Alice Springs. More than 100 artists contribute to the promotion and preservation of the Western Desert Culture. Located at 63 Todd Mall, Alice Springs.


Indigenous Art and Culture Centre

Local "Arrernte" Aboriginal culture art, music and artefacts, including the only didgeridoo university in the world. Experience boomerang and spear throwing, and damper and tea making.


Territory Craft Alice Springs

Entry Fees Apply
Arts and crafts displays. Pottery, silk screen printing, wood work and weaving. Located at Alice Springs Cultural Precinct on Larapinta Drive, Alice Springs.

Irrkerlantye Arts

Free Entry
Irrkerlantye Arts is an art centre for Central and Eastern Arrernte people living in Alice Springs and surrounding outstations. Here a variety of artworks including works on canvas, and prints can be seen and purchased. Located at 40 South Terrace.


Keringke Arts

Free Entry
Keringke Arts is 100 per cent owned by the Eastern Arrente people. It is a working art studio environment that provides a direct sale outlet for original, colourful and vibrant artworks. Designs are created on canvas, ceramics, furniture and guitars. Travellers must phone before visiting the art centre as permission is needed to travel on Aboriginal Land to access Santa Teresa. Permission is gained by phoning 08 8956 0900 and you will need to phone the art centre to let them know you are coming.


Titjikala Arts

Free Entry
Titjikala Arts is located approximately 120 kilometres away from Alice Springs in a small Aboriginal community. The artists create wonderful paintings, wire creations and discarded debris artworks that must be seen to fully appreciate the depth of skill and understanding of the Australian scenery that has been incorporated into the artwork. The exhibition also contains ceramics, jewellery and wooden artefacts (punu) of the local Arrente, Luritja and Pertame Aboriginal people. Located at Lot 61 Maryvale Road, Titjikala/Maryvale, Alice Springs. No permit is required to visit Titjikala Arts.
