The centre of Tasmania's quality sheep-farming region, Campbell Town is located about half way between Hobart and Launceston. It is well known for it's heritage buildings such as The Grange built in 1840, Fox Hunters Return, Campbell Town Inn and Red Bridge - a three arch structure built over the Elizabeth River by convicts in the 1830's. Not to mention the first telephone call in the Southern Hemisphere was made from this town to Launceston and it is the birthplace of Harold Gatty - the first person to fly around the world.
