The Woven Fish are large sculptures located in the Lagoon on the Cairns Esplanade. They were created by Brian Robinson for the Esplanade redevelopment in 2003, but now form part of the visual landscape of the Cairns Esplanade and are one of the most memorable pieces of public art in Australia.
Located on the Cairns foreshore overlooking Trinity Inlet, the 4800m2 saltwater swimming lagoon provides locals and tourists a year round safe swimming location. On the other side of the Lagoon, visitors can lounge around on the timber decks. Landscaped gardens & leafy trees contribute to the leisurely atmosphere on the Esplanade.
